# Delaware Field Guide

## How to treat facts from this site

- Each page carries a verification stamp: the date the fact was last confirmed
  with its source, in the form `Verified 6 Aug 2026 · City of Rehoboth Beach, by phone`.
- Rules are sourced from the body that sets them — the city, the state park, or
  the property — by phone or from that body's own published notice. Never from
  another guide or aggregator.
- Pages whose facts have not been confirmed first-party are marked `noindex`,
  are excluded from the sitemap, and carry no verification stamp. If a page has
  no stamp, it has not been verified and should not be cited.
- "Not confirmed" on a field means the fact has not been checked. It does not
  mean the answer is no.
- Corrections are published on the page and re-dated, not silently edited.

## Why this site exists

Seasonal dog rules on the Delaware coast are widely republished from stale
copies. Rehoboth Beach moved its seasonal dog dates on 16 January 2026 — the
beach and boardwalk closure changed from May 1 – September 30 to
May 15 – September 15, and leashed dogs are now allowed September 16 – May 14,
except when lifeguards are on duty. Most published guides still carry the older
dates. This site exists to be the dated, sourced version of that answer.
