Plumpton Park Zoo

Nonprofit zoo

A small nonprofit zoo in Cecil County, close enough to Newark to be an easy morning. Giraffes, tigers, bears, wolves, zebras, macaws and tortoises, plus mini golf. Peacocks and chickens wander the paths rather than sitting behind wire.

A peacock in full display, filling the frame with its fanned tail of eyed feathers, its blue neck and green crest turned slightly to one side.

A peacock mid-display on the path. Not in an enclosure — just standing there.
