What lodging actually charges for a dog

Not the per-night headline — the total. Plus the weight limit, how many dogs, and whether you can leave one in the room. Four numbers that decide a booking and that almost nobody publishes.

A hotel can call itself pet-friendly and still add $50, $100 or more to the stay. This page will track the total fee, the weight limit, how many dogs and whether one can be left in the room — from each property's own policy.

None of that is collected. What is below is the list of places to ask, and every number on it is blank. Guests describe these as dog-friendly, which is a reason to ring them — it is not a policy, and this page will not print it as one. Until the properties themselves answer, the page is kept out of search rather than published as a comparison it cannot yet make.

For scale, published fees elsewhere in the region run from nothing (Red Roof New Castle, one dog under 80lb) to $200 for a seven-night stay (Hyatt Place Wilmington Riverfront), to $200 plus a $100 deep-clean at an Ocean City oceanfront. Same trip, same dog, $0 to $300 — which is why the blank matters.

A number of well-known hotels at these beaches carry a "pet friendly" tag on booking sites with nothing in their guest reviews to back it up. They are deliberately absent instead of listed with a caveat — a maybe is worth nothing when you are standing in a lobby with a dog.
